Project Overview:
Project Energy Connect is a significant infrastructure initiative aimed at establishing a high-voltage interconnector to link the power grids of South Australia, New South Wales and Victoria. Spanning approximately 900 km, the transmission line operates at 275–330 kV and is designed to enhance energy security and reliability across the interconnected regions.
RPC’s Role:
Regional Project Consulting was engaged to provide comprehensive Erosion and Sediment Control (ESC) services, including design, plan preparation, installation advice, inspection and auditing. Our Certified Professionals in Erosion and Sediment Control (CPESC) have been instrumental in ensuring the project adheres to its stringent environmental approval conditions.
Key Achievements:
- Development of site-specific ESC plans tailored to the project’s unique environmental and regulatory requirements.
- Implementation of best management practices to control drainage, manage clean and dirty water runoff and design systems to handle rainfall without causing erosion.
- Regular inspections and audits to ensure ongoing compliance and effectiveness of ESC measures.
- Worked closely with project stakeholders to proactively to address environmental concerns.
Outcome:
The project is nearing completion without any notifiable environmental incidents associated with Erosion and Sediment Control.
